TRAM Flap Patient 1
This patient was diagnosed with left breast cancer at age 35. Since she had a significant family history of breast cancer, she elected to have bilateral mastectomies and reconstruction with bilateral TRAM flaps.
About TRAM Flap Breast Reconstruction
The TRAM (Transverse Rectus Abdominus Myocutaneous) flap technique re-uses the excess skin and fatty tissue many women have in their lower abdomen to create the breasts. The advantage of this procedure is that the breasts are very soft and natural since they consist of your own natural tissues. In addition, you also get a ‘tummy tuck!’
